Flood Buckets - Information/supply sheet

 

Responding to February 28 Storms  - The following is a statement released by Mary Woodward, Disaster Coordinator for LDR Ohio

 

Lutheran Disaster Response Ohio

 

Flood waters continue to rise in northwest Ohio and recede in northeast Ohio.

Donations Management:  LDR Ohio needs 400 flood buckets, 500 hygiene kits, and is collecting furniture/appliances.  If your church can be a collection site, please e-mail Mary Woodward asap. 

Volunteer Management:  volunteers need to be on alert for deployment for debris removal and mud outs when waters recede.   If you have an early response team in your congregation, e-mail Mary asap.  Communities identified are:  Findlay, Woodville, North Ridgeville, Shelby, Independence, Valley View.  Others will be identified today during state briefing.

Case Management:  LDR Ohio has started case management, identifying urgent needs of families in our congregations and communities.  If you can volunteer as a case manager in your community, call Mary at 740-509-1132 asap.  Thank you LDR for the $5,000 grant to provide assistance immediately.

Spiritual/Christian Care:  LDR Ohio is monitoring need at this time.  One fatality reported in northeast Ohio.

 
If you have identified any families in need, please refer them to LDR Ohio for case management by calling the LDR Ohio/LSS offices at 740-732-6700.  This number may be given to all families/individuals impacted.

Monetary Donations should be forwarded to your Synod and District offices or to LDR Ohio, attn:  Mary Woodward, 810 Main St., Caldwell, Ohio  43724.  Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is the fiscal agent for LDR Ohio and donations may also be forwarded to:  Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio,  attn:  Mary Woodward/LDR Ohio, 500 West Wilson Bridge Road, Suite 245, Worthington, Ohio  43085.
