Colleagues in the Northeastern Ohio Synod:
This letter is to
inform you about and invite you to the 2014

will be different from past years.
The programming begins Tuesday afternoon with a
Eucharist Service and a presentation from our
presenter, Dr. Madsen. After dinner, we will
meet with the
Bible Study Leader, the Rev. Dr. Wally Taylor,
Professor of New Testament Studies at Trinity
Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio and then
Interim Bishop Marcus Miller and Bishop Marcus

another presentation from Dr. Madsen, worship
and a large block of time for personal retreat.
Thursday will conclude with a session with Dr.

We will follow the
process from former years that worked so well:

and the deadline of December 15th
for the reduced price will be strictly
maintained. Refunds will be considered on a
case by case basis. On-line registrations at
the synod website are not available. People
who come only for the day must register as well.
No exceptions. Children may stay
in the lodge for free and if they are under 5
the meals are free as well; 6-11 yrs. are
$90.00. Child care will be available if
registered by December 15th. As
always, spouses are especially encouraged to
We’d also remind
our rostered leaders that the intent of this
gathering is “to retreat” and do what is helpful
for you. In terms of the whole schedule, please
pick and choose what works for you! Bring
your ELW and if you are an “outdoors
person”, bring boots or cross-country skis and a
warm coat to take a walk in the snow. Sawmill
Creek Resort is beautiful in the winter! Check
