Overview

Following a request from the Synod Council growing out of a resolution at the 1998 Synod Assembly, The Task Force on Ministry with People Who are Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgendered was formed and first met on February 13, 1999. The Task Force is a committee that focuses on education and giving people places to talk about their experiences with people who are other than heterosexual or learn more about this issue.

“Recognizing that the church can be an unwelcoming place for people who are not heterosexual, our mission is to advocate, facilitate, and educate the congregations of the Northeastern Ohio Synod re: issues pertaining to gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered persons; seeking new ways to come together in a spirit of grace and peace.”
