Mission Partners – Giving Opportunities
As the end of the year winds down and some congregations are blessed with
additional monies to support mission efforts, you may wish to consider the
following giving opportunities.
Our strategic ministries are those who serve under-represented persons in our
congregations or we support because the church needs to be a witness in the
poorest of communities, bringing the hope of Jesus.
 |
Eastside
Lutheran Parish, serving Cleveland and East Cleveland - with a
coordinated working relationship between Fellowship, Good Shepherd, and
St. James Lutheran Churches for mutual support, shared staffing and joint
programming. ($10,000 needed) |
 |
St. James
Lutheran Church, East Cleveland - In order to meet the growing need
for worship in the African American tradition, a full-time minister of
music is needed. ($12,000 needed) |
 |
Martin
Luther-St. Paul Parish, Cleveland - This parish serves the needs of
two neighborhoods on the west side of Cleveland in a multi-ethnic setting
of persons from Appalachian, Hispanic, and African American cultures. They
provide basic necessities of food, clothing and a safe place for children
as they share Jesus with all. ($16,000 needed) |
 |
Our Savior
Lutheran Church, Lorain - This congregation continues to provide
care and hope in a community that is multi-cultural with many living in
poverty. ($2,000 needed) |
 |
Eastside
Parish Service Center, Cleveland - Supported through a churchwide
hunger grant, it serves over 100,000 individuals yearly. ($12,000 needed) |
Other congregations with need for Mission Partners so they can share the
Gospel in word and deed:
 |
The
Lutheran Church of the Covenant, Maple Heights - This congregation
is making a concerted effort to reach out to the African American
community, through a partnership with Community Re-Entry and the Maple
Heights schools, that provides a team to contact truant youth, assist them
in returning to school and working with their families to give caring
support and an invitation of the Gospel through church members who are
also involved. ($5,000 needed) |
 |
Lutheran
Church of the Good Shepherd, Cleveland - This congregation is
implementing a redevelopment process to re-energize their mission in an
African American community. They are seeking to make changes in music and
outreach to more effectively share the message of Jesus with others.
($10,920 needed) |
 |
First
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Beach City - This congregation, in a
small town in our Southern Conference, has developed a comprehensive
outreach plan of hospitality, communication, and discipleship to actively
seek the unchurched in their area. ($1,000 needed) |
 |
Martin
Luther Lutheran Church, Youngstown - This congregation is also
seeking to redirect its ministry to focus on the educational and spiritual
needs of African American families in their neighborhood. (unidentified
sum) |
 |
Rejoice!
Lutheran Church, Hudson - Our newest congregation hopefully will
have land soon but will need assistance because of the high cost in their
area. The sooner land costs can be covered, the quicker they can begin
building for the future. (unidentified sum) |
