2013 Synod Assembly Reminders

For those who have not already done so, final registrations for the synod assembly must be postmarked by May 24 or completed online no later than May 27.

Rostered leaders and synod council members should plan to be photographed at some time during assembly hours for the new synod photo directory.  Look your best, and make your way to the Bridgestone/Firestone Room on the lower level at the Knight Center to be photographed.  There is no charge for this service.

Remember to bring your parking deck tickets to the registration area in the Upper Rotunda for validation on Friday, May 31.  A validated ticket will cover the cost of parking in either the Broadway deck or the High/Market deck.

Upon signing-in it at the assembly and receiving your name tag, you’ll notice a cluster number on your name tag.  Use that number to locate the tables designated for your cluster seating in the Goodyear assembly hall.

A new printing of our favorite little Northeastern Ohio Synod telephone directory has been accomplished! The new NEOS spiral-bound rostered leader and congregational directory is ready for sale. Please look for them at a table in the display hall of the J. S. Knight Center at the 2013 Synod Assembly, Friday, May 31 & June 1 at a cost of $5.00 each.

Pre-Assembly materials are available online. Only one copy of materials has been mailed to each congregation. Congregations must make copies and distribute to all voting members.

Journey Forward

NEOS JOURNEY FORWARD PROCESS SUMMARY: Journey Forward is a process designed to develop clarity about mission focus in order that congregations become vibrant, vital, viable, visible, sustainable and relevant for the sake of the Gospel. The Northeastern Ohio Synod leadership team, with a host of volunteers, will walk alongside these congregations to provide coaching and technical assistance in gathering information, host learning opportunities to guide planning efforts that include connecting with others for mutual growth and collaboration.

This process is like a three-stage rocket meant for congregations who want their ministry to grow in depth and in effectiveness as a witness to Christ in and with their community. The first stage involves the gathering of data that will ... click [here] to continue reading the NEOS Journey Forward Process Summary and for additional information.

Thank you to everyone who helped to reach this goal in small and large ways.

World Malaria Day is April 25, 2013. Consider planning an emphasis in your congregation during this week and observe World Malaria Day in your congregation on Sunday on April 28, 2012. We join with others all over the world in celebrating the wonderful progress in the eradication of malaria and standing in solidarity with those who suffer.
