Call And Notice of Synod Assembly

In accordance with Section S7.13.01 of the Northeastern Ohio Synod constitution, I hereby call and give notice of the synod assembly which will commence on the seventeenth day of May 2025 and will be held by virtual conference on Zoom.

NOTICE OF ELIGIBLE VOTING MEMBERSHIP FOR SYNOD ASSEMBLY BUSINESS SESSION

  • Ministers of Word and Sacrament (Pastors) on the roster of the Northeastern Ohio Synod and ordained ministers from a church body with which a relationship of full communion exists and who are under service in a congregation of this synod in accordance with S7.27.A13 
  • Ministers of Word and Service (Deacons) on the roster of the Northeastern Ohio Synod 
  • Lay Synod Council Members serving as Synod officers and voting members of Synod Council 
  • Synod Assembly Committee Members appointed by Synod Council who are not otherwise voting members of the assembly, provided they are voting members of congregations of this synod
  • Three Lay Voting Members from each congregation or synod authorized worshiping community (SAWC) as long as one (1) of those members qualifies as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color), LGBTQIA+, or under the age of 30

NOTICE OF DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF RESOLUTIONS & MEMORIALS: APRIL 1, 2025 

Resolutions and Memorials to be considered by the assembly are to be submitted in writing to the synod office by April 1, 2025 for consideration by the Committee on Reference and Counsel. Resolutions submitted after the deadline must be of an urgent nature which could not be submitted prior to the deadline because of changing circumstances in the church or the world.

NOTICE OF DEADLINE FOR PUBLISHED NOMINATIONS: APRIL 1, 2025

Nominations for Synod Council & Consultation Committee are open from now until the Assembly. For your nomination to be included in the published material, it must be received in the Synod Office by April 1, 2025

NOTICE OF DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF BUDGETARY PROPOSALS: APRIL 17, 2025

​Budgetary proposals must be submitted to the synod office by April 17, 2025. All proposals shall be in writing and shall include the amount of increase for a specific line item and/or the amount of decrease for a specific line item and the rationale for such change. The Finance Committee will evaluate each proposal and make recommendations regarding submitted proposals at the Assembly. The proposed 2026-27 budget will become available April 1, 2025.
