A synod bishop has jurisdiction over who provides worship leadership and preaching in congregations of the synod. This primarily takes place through the call process. During times of pastoral vacancy, illness, disability, or vacation, a congregation may enlist the services of an available ELCA pastor, an ecumenical colleague, or someone on the synod's pulpit supply list.
The Pulpit Supply List includes information about appropriate compensation for those providing pulpit supply.
Any questions about this list - or to request to be added to the list - should be directed to Pastor Mitch Phillips, Assistant to the Bishop for Leadership: [email protected]
