Annual Report to the Bishop
Every year rostered ministers are required to report to the bishop on their ministry. Please use the following links to make your report. Please note that there are three forms. One for those rostered ministers who are currently under call, those who are completely retired, and those who are not under call (on leave from call or on disability).
Northeastern Ohio Synod Council has authorized subsidies for our rostered ministers to engage the services of a spiritual director and/or a coach. The NEO Synod will subsidize each rostered minister up to $30 per month for a spiritual director and up to $30 per month for a coach (yes, that means up to $60/month total).
To access these funds, the rostered minister must submit a report of the session and the provider must submit a request for payment via Google Forms. The funds will be paid directly to the provider, and you will be responsible for the difference between the fee and the subsidy. It is your responsibility to negotiate this payment process with your provider.
When a rostered minister departs a call for reasons other than to accept another call or for retirement, they need to inform the synod office of their desired status. They can request to be removed from the roster or to be placed “on leave from call.”
Interim ministers are expected to submit a monthly report of their ministry. The Interim Ministry Covenant is typically for a period of six or twelve months and must be renewed/updated after that term.
When a pastor resigns their call to a congregation, the authority for their pastoral ministry expires along with the call. It is imperative that departing pastors and congregation councils communicate the expectations to the congregation. This document contains a covenant that is to be signed before the pastor departs and includes sample communication to the congregation.
